Characraft:
Writing through Play

This project was selected as one of eight exemplary pieces from the School of Design Communication for The LASALLE Show 2024 to be featured on the main exhibit website.Designed to ignite creativity by immersing learners in a multisensory experience, Characraft offers both an innovative approach for beginners to learn creative writing through Jungian archetypes; and a familiar, yet fresh way for novice writers to think about their craft in more playful ways. By integrating linguistic, spatial, and visual communication modes, Characraft fosters engaging interactions with its vibrant design elements—empowering learners to unlock their imaginative potential in unconventional ways.Read more about Characraft here.

Duolingo Math: Mathletic

This project was shortlisted by LASALLE College of the Arts for submission to the D&AD New Blood Awards 2023 and awarded with the Finalist distinction at The Crowbar Awards under the Singapore AdMarCom Festival 2023.Mathletic is an envisioned collaboration between Duolingo Math and ClassPass, comprising of a campaign video and slides. Brand Identity / User Experience

Fitrition

A play on the words fitness and nutrition, Fitrition is a studio project submitted to LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, where the task was to create a functional prototype of a health and fitness app where users could count calories and track workouts. The design process involved extensive research on similar apps, creating a brand identity, several rounds of site-mapping, and testing to ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience.A prototype of the Fitrition app can be accessed on Figma, here.

Artleisure

Artleisure is a brand activation in the form of an interactive experience designed to elevate the exciting personality of a mock sportswear brand, utilising generative artwork to innovate how young adults approach working out. The project fuses art, fitness, and technology to produce an audio-visual installation that immerses users in a unique and imaginative landscape, challenging conventional notions of exercises.Using Arduino hardware, a sensor, and p5.js software, a collection of ever-changing sounds and visuals that adapt and revolve in response to the user’s movements were created. Videos of user demos can be accessed here and a comprehensive overview of the concept, proposal, process, and prototype can be read on Netlify, here.

Assemblage / Publication Design

Design Funny

Design Funny is a studio project submitted to LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore, prompting us to consider how we can effectively communicate ideas and intentions visually. Drawing from the Surrealism movement, the work was focused on turning the mundane into the surreal through distortion of original function or contextual displacement.I was assigned the prompt "Scottish Ostrich Doing the Flamenco". There were three deliverables for this brief: a wooden assemblage, a publication and a video detailing the creation process. All three would have to clearly communicate the absurdity of the prompt's scenario and possess a whimsical, humorous quality through my manipulation of the required material—wood.Watch the project video here.

Social Media Design

Shake Shack

Shake Shack was launching a new menu item in the Philippines - the Dark Meat Hot Chicken sandwich - and wanted to drive awareness and excitement in its stores and via social media. For promotional materials, I designed a two-part story and carousel post for their campaign “Dark Meat Hot Chicken Challenge” to be posted on their Instagram and Facebook platforms. In collaboration with GrabFood PH, I also designed a power banner for the app.The designs had to reflect the heat and spice of the new product, along with the campaign’s visual of bright, summer colours. The goal was to generate strong interest for the new menu item and increase brand recall with customer engagement.

Nissin Ramen

In support of Nissin Ramen Philippines' ongoing Good Vibes ang Gising campaign (translation: Waking Up with Good Vibes), I designed a social media post with a dynamic and static option. I presented the key visuals within a clock to reinforce the campaign's idea of spending mornings eating with the family. I also used a bright colour palette and whimsical imagery of flying ramen packets to further the notion of a morning filled with good vibes. In the end, the client chose to proceed with the design as a dynamic option, which has since been posted on their Facebook page, here, which has since garnered a million views and over three-thousand interactions.
